i live in roanoke va and i was driving on 581/220 and got pulled over doing 70 in a 55. on my summons it says law section 46.2-870/882. on the paper that lists the costs of fines the cop outlined "speeding in residence zone, 46.2-878.2 with special posted sign - 200.00 plus 7.00 per mph over speed limit." i'm wondering why he outlined that when i wasn't speeding in a residence zone, i was speeding on a highway. i'm also wondering how much it'll cost if its correct and if i should just pay it or go to court. i was 17 at the time but i'm now 18, so do i need my parent to sign or go with me, its my first speeding ticket and i've had my license for over a year now so would there be any way to just take a safe driver course or something like that?...
